I have an incomplete order outstanding from the first Kickstarter; what is the status of my order?
There are about 200 backers in Europe who are still waiting to receive some portions of the accessories for their orders; we’re working with our European warehouse to get those delivered as quickly as possible. There are about 200 backers in Canada who are waiting for delivery of the French Edition of the game - that product is scheduled to arrive in the third week of August in Vancouver BC and will then be shipped to the Canadian warehouse for fulfillment.
We will continue to update all affected backers as we get more information confirmed from both distribution centers.

I have an outstanding request with customer service for missing or damaged components; what is the status of those requests?
The customer service team has quite a backlog but they are working steadily to clear it. They have been waiting for replacement components to arrive from China and they now have more of what they need to complete various requests. We are also working with our warehouse in Europe to provide some component replacements so that we can ship those from within the EU and hopefully avoid local customs from taxing what should be zero value shipments.

What are the full components of the Letters of Marque Reward?
This package includes the Flags of the Old World game system, and the Changing Tides Saga expansion. You will also receive the Upgrade Kit which includes some replacement components, additional pieces, and a booklet with notes on improved card/rules wording (note, rules and effects have not changed, but with all the great feedback from the first version, we’ve been able to improve some wording to make certain rules and card effects clearer).. You will also receive the Sea Dogs II pack as a part of this campaign.

What stretch goals do you have planned?
This campaign has no stretch goals but it does have a daily reveal of a new Sea Dog which will be bundled together in the Sea Dogs II pack and provided to every backer and late pledge!
We cannot change the descriptions of the Rewards once the campaign begins so we’ve ensured that if and when any surprise Stretch Goals are added to the campaign they’ll be accounted for in the description. We don’t have any surprises planned.

What is a pledge manager and which one will you use?
Pledge Managers are 3rd party tools that allow us to manage your order after the end of the campaign on Kickstarter, and allow people who missed the Kickstarter to make a late pledge. In the Pledge Manager you’ll be able to modify your order, adding add ons and changing your Reward if you wish. Like an online store, at checkout you’ll pay for shipping and any tax due.
We’ll be using BackerKit for this campaign. The pledge manager will open for Late Pledges shortly after the end of the campaign and it will be available for backers about 2 weeks after the campaign ends.

Do you ship worldwide?
No we do not. The shipping section lists the countries we ship to. If you back the campaign and want your Rewards delivered in a country that we do not ship to you will be responsible for securing freight forwarding at your expense.

Will you ship “EU Friendly”?
We will ship the products into Europe to our Depot with all customs and duties prepaid. You should receive your order without having to pay any additional fees to your local government customs office. If you normally receive Kickstarter Rewards without any monies due you should not owe anything when you receive the shipment from this campaign.

Is VAT included?
No. VAT will be assessed at checkout in the pledge manager.
We will ship to EU addresses from an EU depot. If for some reason your locality requires you to pay a tax or fee beyond that paid when the products were imported into the EU to receive such shipments those costs must be paid by you. We cannot guarantee that there will be no such cost but we plan to use a shipment system similar to that used by most successful EU friendly Kickstarters so if you have in the past received such packages without extra costs you should receive ours without those costs too.

Is GST/Sales Tax included?
You will see a GST or Sales Tax amount added to your order for shipments into Canada and into certain US states where AEG is obligated to pay sales tax. These taxes will be calculated and paid in the Pledge Manager.

How will Brexit affect delivery of my Rewards?
It should have no effect. We’ll ship Rewards destined for the UK to a depot in the UK and avoid shipping them from the EU Depot.

Can the game be played by more than 4 players?
Not at this time. The game is tightly balanced for 1-4 players currently. Moreover, game length is correlated with the number of players , and we feel that for many groups a 5 player game would simply be a longer, less fun, version of the game. While we don’t want to rule out the possibility of an expansion in the future that adds a 5th player, such an expansion is not currently in development.

Will I have access to the Pledge Manager if I didn't select a Reward? What if I pledge $1?
You’ll need to pledge at least $5 to gain guaranteed access to the Pledge Manager with Kickstarter pricing.
If you do not back this Kickstarter you’ll be able to make a Late Pledge via the Pledge Manager for a period of time after the campaign ends. Prices & availability for customers who did not back the campaign are subject to change.

Exactly how many Premium Sleeves will be necessary to sleeve all the cards?
All the sleeves you will need for the game will come with the game. None of the transparent advancement cards in the game should be sleeved pre-game; they are sleeved into cards in your deck as part of the gameplay.
Each pack of Premium Sleeves used with Dead Reckoning includes extras so you’ll have some replacements if necessary.

What is your refund policy?
We offer a no-questions-asked refund policy. You can get a 100% refund within 10 days of the close of the campaign. Thereafter we can refund 92% of your pledge (a full refund minus the Kickstarter and payment processing fees we cannot recover). You can request a refund any time before your Reward is shipped.

Will there be non-English versions of the Game?
Yes! We are going to produce this game in English, French and German for delivery in August of 2023. It is possible that other languages will be added in the future. AEG is directly handling the translation and support of the games in French & German.
We learned a lot about how to make this game in three languages in the first Kickstarter and we expect to deliver all three languages simultaneously this time!

Will there be an “all in” Reward?
Maybe! We add these types of Rewards at the end of the Campaign as we start the final few days. If one is added you’ll be able to upgrade to it in the Pledge Manager if you miss the chance to upgrade during the campaign.

Do I have to play as a pirate? What if I don’t like attacking other players?
In Dead Reckoning there are many paths to victory and you can win the game without ever attacking another player!

Can I avoid being attacked by other players entirely?
No, other players can choose to attack you when they hold the right cards and are in the same space as your ship on their turns. That said, there is no player elimination and winning battles is only one of multiple viable paths to victory.

Can I attack other players any time I wish?
No. In order to attack other players you need to have a card ability that enables you to do so (Attack Flag). Your Captain card can be upgraded to that ability. You can also gain that ability on other cards by using the Card Crafting System.

What does “Pirate Mode” do?
When you put your ship in Pirate Mode you are in an aggressive stance during other players turns; you will automatically fight any other player’s ship that stops at the same Ocean space as your ship. If you win that battle the active player may not interact with the island you are at (if any), so it is a way to blockade islands. Pirate Mode does not allow you to attack other player’s ships on your turn.

What is the difference between “Saga” and “Legacy”?
Legacy games require you to alter your game as you play, sometimes even destroying and removing components. They also require you to play with the same group of players game after game.
Saga Expansions let you “discover” and incorporate new components to the game while playing, but they don’t require you to destroy or alter any base-game components. Moreover, you can incorporate them across casual games with different groups of players. You can remove the Saga Expansion components and “reset” your game to its original configuration if you wish!

Are the islands uninhabited?
Yes. Dead Reckoning takes place in a made-up place called the “New Sea”, where, much like the experience of the ancient Polynesians as they ventured into the western Pacific, the players will discover islands that are not inhabited. The islands are full of mysteries but they are not full of people. Dead Reckoning is a game about Extraction not Exploitation.

How long does it take to play this game?
Dead Reckoning is a complex game with a significant learning curve. Experienced players can run through a 4 player game in 90 to 120 minutes. Players who are still learning the rules and discovering how the game is played will take longer to finish a game.
Game length can also vary based on player strategies. The end game is triggered by players completing a series of achievements. In some games one or more players may strategically try to trigger the end game quickly. In other games all players may strategically delay or simply fail to complete the end game conditions rapidly.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
