BackerKit Invitation Process Has Begun

Dear Backers,
Yesterday (Tuesday the 6th) we received funds from this project from Kickstarter. Today (Wednesday the 7th) we are beginning the process of inviting you to BackerKit to complete your order checkout.
This process involves two rounds of invitations. The first round, which BackerKit calls a "Smoke Test" sends the invites to 5% of the backers. We will let those folks interact with the system today, and identify any errors that affect the order checkout process. Tomorrow (Thursday the 8th) we'll send the rest of the invitations to all the remaining backers.
In BackerKit you will be able to change your Reward. You will be able to add items to your order. And you will be able to complete the check-out process, providing payment information for shipping & handing and tax due (if any).
BackerKit charges people who pay via PayPal immediately. Credit Card orders are processed when we decide to run the credit card charging process. Typically we provide 2 weeks notice to Backers before we run the credit cards.
You will be able to change your order in BackerKit for quite some time. Typically we lock the pledge manager about 2 months before Rewards are delivered, which in this case would be June of 2023.
If you have a change of delivery address before fulfillment, you can change your address yourself in BackerKit and don't need our intervention. After we lock the system you'll need to contact us to change an address.

Letters of Marque Shipping Rate for EU+ is incorrect

The rate charged for shipping Letters of Marque to EU+ backers is not correct; it is $25 and should be $15. We're getting that fixed. Sorry for any confusion!

The campaign has ended - what happens next?

Thank you for joining us on this voyage of discovery and adventure! The campaign has now ended!
Here is what will happen next:
Over the next several days, Kickstarter will attempt to process your pledge using the credit card you have on file with them. If they are unable to do so, they will keep trying for about 2 weeks. If your payment still fails, you will still be able to configure your order in the pledge manager and pay for the entire amount there.
The "Pre-Order" store is open now. That is the system BackerKit uses for people who want to make a late pledge. That is not you. Your Kickstarter order will take some time to be imported into BackerKit. You will receive email from BackerKit when your order has been uploaded and is ready for you to work with. Until then, you do not need to do anything.
On the Pledge Manager is ready for your use, you'll be able to log into it and change your Reward, put add-ons on your order, and complete the checkout process. If, during this time, you see a crazy shipping cost of $10,000, that is because the system needs you to provide a valid delivery address to calculate your shipping cost, OR because you've added so many things to your order that we need to add a new tier of weights to the shipping tables. If you're in the former situation, just complete the checkout process and you'll see the correct cost. If you're in the latter, please email [email protected].
From now until the delivery of your Rewards we'll be providing updates primarily related to critical milestones for the project. If you have issues with your order, want to request a refund or cancellation, can't access the pledge manager, or have some other issue, please email [email protected].
Oh, and if you've told Kickstarter to use your AppleID and to not share your email address, nobody can communicate with you. You need to email [email protected] and provide a useable email so we can get you access to the pledge manager. Every campaign several people end up getting an unwanted refund and cancelled order because they used AppleID on Kickstarter and never contacted us with valid email info.

One More Day to the End! More info on the Upgraded Buildings

Legendary Captains,
We are just a few hours more than a full day from the end of the campaign at 5pm (Pacific Time) on Friday the 19th.
Yesteday was a very exciting day. We announced the Dead Reckoning All-In Reward and the 48 hour Reminder from Kickstarter was transmitted to everyone who is following the campaign. We booked over $50k in pledges and will break the $500k plateau this morning. Thank you!
One of the features of this campaign is an add-on for Upgraded Buildings. Our team is working on developing the 3D models that will be used for those buildings but that is still a work in progress. Today's Update contains more details on that project.
The team will be working hard through the end of the campaign to answer questions in the Comments and ensure that everyone has as much information as we can provide.

Legendary Captains!
Today we're adding a new Reward to the campaign, the Dead Reckoning All-In Reward. This Reward features everything offered in this campaign - the base game, the three expansions, and all the accessories. That is a $388 bundle priced for Kickstarter backers at $339!
Yesterday we asked you to respond to a short survey about the playmat and results were very definitive. 80% of the respondants wanted a mat that was long enough to accommodate both the Letters of Marque Empire board and a 5th row of content. We'll take that advice to heart!
Here is today's story segment and Sea Dog reveal. This is the final piece of our story. Today marks the start of the end of this campaign. At 5pm (Pacific) this afternoon the 48 hour Reminder message will go out from Kickstarter to everyone who is following but has not yet backed the campaign. Tomorrow and Friday we'll be focused on bringing the campaign to a successful conclusion!
