Pledge Manager Closed & Locked for
Dead Reckoning Letters of Marque
The Pledge Manager on BackerKit is closing and locking for this campaign. Order data is now being prepared for the fulfillment process. Notification has been sent to all backers from BackerKit providing a 48 hour window for self-service address changes.
Address changes will not be possible after
Friday July 21st
If you need to change your address, do it now.
Earlier this year we accidentally charged the credit cards for backers with open balances. Those charges were kept on file and won't be charged again. You may receive notification from BackerKit about pending credit card charges but if your order is fully paid for there will not be any activity on your credit card.
Any orders with open balances will be charged after July 21st.
If you need to change the address for an order that is closed & locked please email [email protected] for assistance. We can make changes manually until July 21st.
CHANGE TO FULFILLMENT PLAN
Dead Reckoning Letters of Marque is now scheduled to be shipped to the Depots in August, which means we'll be fulfilling this campaign in September. If it becomes possible to speed up the tempo of fulfillment, we'll do so and notify all the backers!
This is an extremely complex campaign to fulfill with a wide variety of different items and multiple languages. To give our team and our fulfillment partners time to ensure a smooth delivery we are not going to be able to make any changes to addresses or to order items after July 21st.

I have received a few questions about the Ghost Ship add-on and can confirm that it does include the Battle Board.

Due to an overwhelming response we are no longer able to accept Late Pledges for this campaign. Fulfillment will begin in September and we will list any remaining inventory for sale on our website once all shipments are complete.
That said, we are gearing up for the next expansion and campaign, which should launch in the 1st half of next year. John D Clair wanted to go in a little different direction for the next expansion, and it will not be a saga. Instead it will be some new advancements, new crew, new islands, new ships and even new achievements that can be used seamlessly with the base game, previous sagas, and the Letters of Marque expansion giving you a different, but still very familiar, play experience without adding a ton of new rules to learn or teach! Our dev team has begun playtesting this new set, and we're looking forward to showing you more!

Ahoy Mateys!
We have Production news from overseas: All of the PVC cards (plastic see-through ones) have been printed for all 3 languages and are heading to our main printing partner in China.
Interesting note: For us to pull off the double sided printing on PVC cards, it has to be done with a special printer we partnered with in Taiwan. Our fearless Production Manager, David Lepore, got visit that partner a few weeks ago. Here are some pictures from his trip:

John D Clair always keeps us on our toes, with designs that break new ground not only in game mechanics, but in printing and production challenges. We're particularly proud with how we solved the issue of double-sided PVC cards!
For all of the other stuff, mostly paper, cardboard, wood, and molded plastic-type bits, they are done in China. Dave also has an update from there!
All of the English is printed and German is being printed as I write this. French will be next and when all the other bits are done and the shipment from Taiwan arrives, assembly and packaging will begin.
This was quite a long trip for Dave–it was his first back to Asia in 3 years. It was challenging but very productive in working out how to better serve production and logistics. He also visited the facility in there, and sent back a few pictures from his quality checks there:

With all of that, we look to be shipping everything out of China about mid-June, on track for fulfilment to begin in September.

Thank you all for pointing out that I only mentioned who won the poll for the 1 Cannon vs. 3 Cannon question, and I'm rectifying that now by saying that 3 Cannons won by a landslide. Here is what your upgraded buildings will look like:

They also sent me those samples in a blister, so here's is what that will look like:
I wish they sent me the Blister full of buildings... looks like I have to wait until September as well :)
Someone had asked about Development, it should be obvious with everything being close to done on printing that game development is quite done at this point. but if you'd like a little more of a peek behind the curtain, we usually finish all development and begin illustration and graphic design of the actual game or expansion itself on all of our Crowdfunding games before the campaign begins. Usually just a few peripheral items like upgraded bits, campaign exclusives, and the like are worked out during and after the campaign.
And finally, I was able to help work out some new dieline cuts for the Battleship cube tower. The first printing had some very tight and challenging fits, so I broke out my caliper and laid out some new vector lines in Illustrator to send over.
They sent me back some new punchboards with those new cuts, and assembly is MUCH easier and quicker. I was able to punch and assemble the below ship in about 9 minutes! No pliers or screwdrivers needed!

HANDLING THE EARLY CHARGE OF CREDIT CARDS FOR DEAD RECKONING LETTERS OF MARQUE

Yesterday we processed pending credit card charges for the Dead Reckoning Letters of Marque campaign early. That was our error and we apologize.
If you have been harmed by this early charge (for example, if you've had an overdraft fee assessed) or if you need an immediate refund of the payment, please use this form:
Our customer service team will respond to you via our ZenDesk ticketing system and work with you to resolve the issue.
We're also going to unlock the locked orders so that you can continue make make changes until the originally scheduled milestone to close the orders in May. It will take us a few days to get that done and we expect to have the orders unlocked by next week.
